I'm Tajammal Maqbool, a software engineer who has been shipping web applications since 2020, working across the stack with React, Next.js and Node.js. CD Calculators is my own project: I design the tools, build the shared math engine, write the guides and comparisons, and keep the site maintained.
My background lies in engineering rather than banking, and I am careful about that line. I make no claim to be a licensed financial adviser, and nothing here is personalised advice. What I can promise is that every number is computed correctly and shown in the open, with the formula on the page.
Why I built CD Calculators
Most CD calculators hand over a single figure with no hint of how it was reached, wrapped in ads and email gates. As a developer, that bothered me — there is no secret to the math behind a certificate of deposit, so hiding it only makes the number harder to trust.
CD Calculators therefore does the opposite. Every result displays the formula with your numbers substituted in, every rate carries the date it was checked, and the whole engine is unit-tested against real bank disclosures. A tool that cannot show its working does not ship.
